360 or ps3 for media server use

Hi Folks,

I have a PS3 and a 360 but I'm moving to the states and can only take one with me.

Right now I'm more concerned about using it as a media player (streaming from my NAS) than with videogaming.

Is one better than the other? In day to day use I find I have to transcode more for the x360, but then it is a lot noisier... any preferences? Many thanks!

I'd personally choose the PS3, as you said it's a lot quieter plus with PS3MediaServer it'll support probably everything you'll have to throw at it.

Not sure if the PS3 uses it's upscaler when your streaming but if it does then it's 100% the PS3 as the DVD upscaler is simply amazing!

And any games you get there will all work, and you can actually use the PS3 HD to play media you have downloaded yourself
