Windows 7 and streaming

My new Windows 7 PC finds my Xbox 360, and I have set permissions in Media Player for what to share with it. My belkin router also reports the Xbox 360 as being present on the network. However, the 360 itself refuses to recognise any PCs on the network. Both PCs are ethernet connected to the router, and the Xbox is connected wirelessly.
I have no Firewall software running.
I remember on Vista you had to have Media Center but that doesn't appear to be the case with Windows 7.
I've run out of ideas now, so any suggestions gratefully received!

I had the same problem when I installed Windows 7.

What you need to do is click on start and where it says "Search for programs and files" type "network" and press return.

You should now see the Xbox 360 under Media Devices. Right click on it and choose "Media streaming options".

You will now be taken to a new screen which shows your pc and the 360. Highlight the Xbox 360 and click on "Customize".

On the next screen click "Make all of the media in my library available to this device" and choose "All star ratings".

You should now be able to access your media

Edit: On re-reading your message, I'm not 100% sure the above will help as you say your 360 cannot see your pc. Mine could see the pc, but couldn't access any media files.

Yup - I did all this, and my PC can see the Xbox, but when I go to the Xbox it cannot find any computers on my network. I have now resorted to setting up the dreaded Media Center simply to get it to work. That, now, at least is working. All I can think of is that there is an issue with my router, as I do not have any firewall software running....very confusing and frustrating..
