Re: HD Mac to xbox streaming

what format are the video files - most HD files seem to be in .mkv which is not directly supported on the xbox and need to be transcoded on the fly. Windows 7 has made some ground into HD streaming but personally I found the problems to outway the results - often getting stereo instead of 5.1 sound, transcoding on fly at the PC end, etc.

Others on here will be able to give you more details ways of achieving it but using a Mac as the source may make things a little more interesting.

Re: HD Mac to xbox streaming

I stream in HD via connect360, just got to make sure the files a suitable format. Most of my HD stuff comes in as .MKV which isn't supported, I just convert in Handbrake and jobs a good'un, it does take a fair while to convert though, an hour or so for a film. O and you need to make sure your network, if wireless is up to the job of streaming HD.

I convert to m4v/mp4 using handbrake HandBrake - Just a note though the current release of Handbrake doesn't handle newer MKV codecs all too well at all, your best bet would be to download the beta/testing version here HandBrake • View topic - HandBrake SVN2845 Snapshot . Works a treat for me, I convert to mp4 with the video codec as FFmpeg, set it to constant quality 93-100%, once you load up you should be able to see what I mean.

To be honest I don't have a clue about the wireless streaming, best bet is having a mosey on google.
