Conversion Streaming

I want to convert movie files so they'll play on my xbox but can any recomend good conversion software?

So far i've tried Handbrake which just seems to take 10 hrs and only does half the film. Also i've tried AVS converter which wants to take 43 hrs!!!

any help would be appreciated.

The speed with which you convert a movie depends largely on a speed of your cpu and it usually takes ages, regardless of software used. I cant really say which program would be fastest for that, however, if you haven't before, maybe you should try some media streaming software that supports on the flight transcoding? Tversity is the most popular, i think, and also have the free version available.

PS3 Media Server is by far the best console streaming software IMO. Works brillantly with my PS3 and Xbox 360. Streams and if the file isn't compatible will automatically convert on the fly. You don't need a mega fast processor for conversion, just make sure it's half decent. I've got an intel core duo 2.66ghz in my machine and it converts huge 1080p files without a problem.

BTW, try to use a wired network if you can. I am using a gigabit wired network. I doubt very much I would get decent results using wifi, even using the N wireless standard.
