Xbox360 External HDD Not Recognised?

Hi,

I have a Buffalo 1TB External HDD drive that ive been using to watch stuff on my Xbox 360. Its been working great for about 10 months. In the last few days the Xbox doesnt recognise it on the menu at all. Its one of the power saving ones and when plugged into the usb port of the xbox it powers up so the xbox does work with it but its not showing on the menu for portable device like it used to. I have tried using different usb ports, turning on and off, different cable and still no joy.
The HDD is Fat32 and works perfect when plugged into my pc.

Totally stumped as to why its just stopped showing up on the menu... Anyone got any ideas?

Re: Xbox360 External HDD Not Recognised?

Are u able to try it on any other pc? so that if by chance it works yu could back stuff up to another HDD first.
If it works at all on other comps (worth a try) then u might be able to back up to another HDD (may have to buy anotrher one, which isnt ideal but if a way of saving ur data would be worth it.)
But if u have no joy and still dont work then im afraid u are stuck. Prob lose data dont see a way of saving it, Which yeah would suck.
Seesm like something is corrupt and as it says a format would sort it but would lose all data.

Yeah tried it on the main PC that runs XP and no joy. Laptop Vista says it needs formatted. Check and my Music, Documents and Pictures are all backed up on laptop and main PC. Just lost all my films, tv etc.

ah well unlucky, i also got a ton of films TV etc, but all is backed up on disc aswell. Only way of being safe. Been meaning to buy another HDD as a backup only drive just in case as would be a nightmare if my drives were to go.
(games wise)
Better off just formatting and be done with it, seems only option now then.
