Xbox 360 Jasper & video_TS/ISO support possible?

Hello to all,

Have just purchased my son a 360 Jasper Arcade with 20Gb HDD and want to be able to play the backups I have of my DVD collection (or rather soon to have) which will be in either VIDEO_TS or ISO format. So far I have attempted playing a VIDEO_TS folder to which the 360 can see the folder but not read any contents. Ideally I do not want to have to encode to a different format as I wish to keep the DVDs completely intact.

Comments and suggestions welcome.

360 won't play them mate.

I have my dvds converted to xvids and all playing from a 1TB HDD.

Damm it! I was dreading someone would say something like that. I have to be so picky about the format because the PS3 needs to be able to read them as does my HTPC, as does the Xbox in my room (going to flash it to Xbox Media Centre).

No sort of soft mod or anything that would allow such playback?

No theres no such mod at the moment. I have PS3 media server installed on my HTPC and that allows the PS3 and 360 to stream any file ive thrown at it so far, you just need a decent spec PC to do the transcoding on the fly.

Could you link me at all please? Would my HTPC be able to be do the transcoding even in Hibernation mode at all? Also all the files will be stored via NAS

It requires quite a lot of juice to convert the files on the fly so it wont be able to do it in hibernation mode
