Play DIVX Files?

How come I cannot play any DIVX files I have on disc on my 360?

It recognises the files but just wont play them as its not suported?

How do I make them suported or get the 360 to play DIVX?

Also whats the best way to stream?

Re: Play DIVX Files?

have you downloaded the media update to the xbox ? if not they wont work - you only do it once and it saves it on the harddrive.

Re: Play DIVX Files?

The files also need to be Dix 5.0 (or higher I believe) or Xvid. The Xbox is also fussy about the audio used. I converted some movies to Divx but used the DTS soundtrack which it refused to play. MP3,WMA are fine - not sure about any others.

Any older Divx files I have converted using AutoGK. I'm not sure if there is a program you can use to change the container of a Divx without having to reconvert.
