| 360 Mediaplayer no truncation letterbox playback mode?
I've got loads of videos i'm streaming to my 360 using tversity (which is connected to a 1080p tv).
Most playback fine, with the obvious exception of some codecs - however, I can sort that out myself.
The problem i'm facing is that many of the movies have been encoded at non-standard aspect ratios - and when these movies are played back through the xbox 360's media player, none of the playback modes are satisfactory.
How do you playback a video on the 360 so that it is letterboxed with no truncation? (i.e. stretched to fill the screen, but with the aspect ratio maintained)
e.g.
I have a 640x280 encode of Blade Runner that when played on the 360 results in some letterboxing top & bottom, but also has the picture truncated a little at the left and right edges. (I can tell this by comparing the picture against native playback mode)
As my TV is waaay higher resolution than the video, IMO it's stupid to be chopping any pixels off the image - but having to use native mode is equally unacceptable.
