where to start

i got media centre on my 360 to connect to my pc fine (windows vista ultimate) but when i go into windows media player it wont turn on media sharing (i can see this in network and sharing centre and wont let me turn it on no matter how many times i try it) and it doesnt see my 360 on the list so i can allow it

anyone able to help me with this one? ive been tryin for the past 2 days and its really starting to annoy me big time
