360 dolby digital through pc.

ihas anybody connected there 360 to an optical input on their sound card and gaind 5.1 Dolby Digital through there computer speakers (attached via the 3 stereo cable type things) if so what hardware are you using id be interested to know. is it even possible?

p.s i tried the search option and couldnt find anything matching?
