16.5A Rated 360 = Falcon ?

16.5A Rated 360 = Falcon ?

I thought Falcons were rated 14A on the back - and the new Jaspers 12.1A

or do I have an early Falcon

has the 175W PSU and has HDMI thats why I ask

its also just RROD

there are 175W PSU and 150W PSU Jasper models out.
12.1A are only jaspers i dont think they did any different ones than 12.1A

oops my post wasn't clear sorry

I have a Falcon I think - but rated on the back as per the original 360s at 16.5A - rather than 14.X amps

but has a 175W PSU bizarre

Falcons are around 14.5A, I think it is 14.6A.

I think mine is a falcon mine is a 175w and has 14.2A on the back

im not 100% but you would think if yours is 16.5A it would be a Xenon/Zephyr board and therefore have the 203w brick so yes bizzar..maybe they started putting the 2nd generation bricks on the xenon boards at some point

my falcon that died had 16.5a and it was powered by a 175w psu. said 175w on the box.

175w powerbricks don't fit in a non-Falcon/Jasper console. They aren't able to produce enough current so MS key them so they don't fit in old 203w consoles.


They did the same with the Jasper PSU so it doesn't fit in anything but a Jasper.



The box might say 175w because that is the power usage for the console, but the value on the PSU itself would be 203w.

didnt they change the actual plug to make it so

Yep. It has a piece of plastic preventing it fitting in an old console.
