hi all...
i recently got a vga cable from ebay the cheap ones..(as i am on a tight budget..lol)
when i c connect it to my monitor 22" ag neovo
i dont get any picture or sound just a blank screen...
also have tried it on my 42inch samsung and still no joy...

Hav been in contact with the sellar who has advised me to change my out put to vga..
hav searched the xbox settings but it does not hav a setting for vga..
is it something i am doin wrong (setting etc...???)
or have i just bought a dodgy cable???

your help n advice is appreciated.

Your posting in the wrong forum, try in hardware or the mods can move it.

Your xbox 360 should detect that it is connected via vga cable and give you vga settings. How are you supposed to change it to output via vga if you can't see the screen? Ask the seller that!

Do yourself a favour, get a refund from him, and shell out that little bit more for the Official VGA cable from Microsoft - as far as vga cables go, everything else is crap and will diminish your viewing pleasure.

Just to emphasize the reasoning behind DongaTon's advice, VGA is a analogue signal so you get signal degredation which affects picture quality. The better the quality of connection the less chance of interference too.

Sounds like a dodgy cable, dont need to do anything to mine to change it to vga, just turn it on, and mine only cost me £4.99 madcatz one and even comes with an optical lead too

The Madcatz leads are pretty decent as far as third party stuff goes. I know some people had issues with the Wii component cables but other than that I've not heard many complaints either.
