Man down....

......with RROD.

Gutted

Just switched it on for a bash on COD, the screen froze during gameplay, with loads of lines.

When I turned it back on, RROD.

Unplugged everything, did it by the book, still there.

Booked it in for repair now

Thanks mate.

I'm hoping it's back pretty soon, but I'm considering picking up an arcade this weekend provided I can get a cheap one in store.

I'm a MS fanboy, so I won't be making that purchase lol

I'll be stuck on the Wii for the next couple of weeks if I can't find an arcade in store for around £100

Re: Man down....

Nine days for me, it would have been 8 but UPS rescheduled it.

It came back today with a new mobo and a ballsed-up eject button that works about 20% of the time .

Re: Man down....

happens to everyone old chap.

I am on my third.

However - I demanded GAME changed it last time even though it was outside the 1 year warranty and they wanted me to send to MS using the 3 year rrod warranty....but that can take weeks so I insisted.

GAME, or whatever shop you got it from, have to change it for you and they will if you make enough fuss.

Re: Man down....

sent mine away last monday got it back wednesday this week with a new mobo so nine days i was happy about that. Also guys i know this is wrong but what the hell our console shouldnt break so easily in the first place. i have now sent two of my friends consoles for repair that were out of warranty by using newer serial codes. It would seem nobody is checking these at the repair centres and i know UPS dont give a dam. just some food for thought there

Re: Man down....

I bought myself a 20GB pro yesterday, which has HDMI, 175w power pack, and the falcon chip.

Using it for a few weeks, then I'll sell on once I get the Elite back.

Cost me £113 per-owned, a mate has offered me £90 for the console, and I could sell the 20GB for £20, so a £3 loss for renting a console.
