My New Jasper Doesn't Seem To Like Standing Up

lol

having a disc in tray with the console vertical causes the disc to make strange noises. it sounds like scratching but took the disc out to double check, and everything was fine. sitting horizontal, it's definitely fine. quiet as can be...oh well, it works

M$ Told people years back...Don't use the console standing up, it's been known to scratch disks.

So why put feet on it to allow it to stand up?? My last one lasted over 3 yrs standing up and the current pro is fine standing up. As long as you're careful putting the disk in, I don't see a problem.

What about the one time you or a friend isn't careful? I always recommend to friends to lay them horizontal, that being siad I know for some people its just not feasible. I had mine vertical for 2 months and it used to make horrid noises when slowing down from spinning a disk up.

think of a wheel on a car, without balancing it will spin off axis.
whereas if its flat it has the spindle to support it

You say that like I'm wrong lol,

Why did they make it so when you stand it up the lights move round so that it shows the correct controller.

Because they did make it to stand up, I never said they didn't?

I said they told people not to stand them up because they've had reports that it could scratch your disk.

try saving your disc to hard drive and play the game from the hard drive , might stop the noise also if you have halo 3 saved to hard drive remove it and play from disc as bungie said the game will play better that way (presuming its halo 3 your playing)
