HELP! 3 RROD on old premium and GF has just brought me a new Arcade...

My girlfriend, Zeala, gave me the premium for Xmas 2006 which lat month got the 3 RROD. I sent it to MS who refused to repair it as the case had been opened and sent it back.
Ive been climbing the walls since waiting for a few spare days so I cab get the parts to try and repaid the X-clamps.

Yesterday Zeala came home with an early Valentines day present, a brand new Arcade!!!

Now, Im assuming its a direct replacement and I put the premium HD onto the Arcade and register the new serial number with MS.

Is there any reason why I shouldnt open the Arcade and take it back and exchange it for a????????

Can a MOD change the title of the thread from Core to Arcade please?

Are you saying you want to take your broken 360 back to the store for a refund.

Because that is very naughty.

Plus why was your dead 360 opened in the first place.

I don't know what you're trying to do

The Arcade doesn't have the chrome disc tray. So if you're tryng to pass it off as a Premium you might have a problem.

The dead 360 was opened as I thought it was out of warranty so was going to try and repair it myself. Then I found out about MS extending the RROD warranty to 3 years....All in all its my fault.

Ive no plans to swop the 360's and take them back. Im more than happy to have the Arcade and in time to come hopefully repaid the Premium myself and either sell it or use it at Zealas place as a spare console when Im there.

My intention is to use the Arcade with my existing Premium HD, make use of the HDMI - HDMI, although need the MS optical out dongle/cable as the Premium is componant and have the *repaird* Premium as a spare or sell it on.....I still have all boxes for the Premium in perfect condition!

By writing 'taking back the Arcade and exchanging for a?????' I was simply asking if the Arcade is worth having as I have the extra hardware already or should I take it back unopened and exchange it for a Premium or an Elite????

If you plan to use HDMI and want the official optical adapter that is £40. But you can remove the casing from a component cable.

If you plan to install games to the HDD then the 20GB isn't really big enough.

But if you don't care about the above the arcade is fine as you've got a 20GB drive.
