DVD remote problems

Hi I bought a DVD remote of ebay(link below).When it first arrived it worked OK then stopped working.I have had two more sent to me and neither works.It seems unlikely that three remotes would be faulty so just wondering if anyone has any ideas before I start asking for a refund.
