hi there
newbie here so be gentle!
i'm about to change my tv set up-
getting sky HD and changing xbox to an xbox elite- getting it free with mobile phone contract- and also going to get a cinema system to match the black look.
i have a plasma with 2 or 3 hdmi sockets (not at home to check)
most of the cinema sytems i can afford only have 1 hdmi in socket and an optical port

my question is how do i link the xbox elite and sky hd both through the surround sound and into the tv with hdmi s etc...??
can i link sky to tv with hdmi and take an optical to the surround sound and then link the elite to the surround sound with hdmi then to tv with hdmi?

or vice versa?

What you need is an HDMI switcher. You can get remote ones, or simple ones that take the source that was swtched on most recently. It means you can put 2 or more HDMI sources into one input. Should set you back £20 or so, try running a search in these forums for opinions.

or you could connect xbox and sky to tv with hdmi
and then xbox and sky to cinema sound via an optical switch like me.
