just purchased 2nd hand elite got it hooked to my lcd on av/hdmi channel,but when i go into settings it says its set at 480p all over options are blanked out,anybody know whats going on,i have 2 other 360s they are both fine in hd settings in comp and hdmi?

The other two are in 720/1080 on the same screen?

Try the video reset. Hold y, turn the machine on, then pull the right trigger as it boots.

Yes other two are on same screen in hd,ill try video reset cheers not heard of that 1 before cheers.

Very weird it wont have it but im sure the picture is not 480p,i couldnt get the video reset to work nothing seemed to happen and settings where the same,got me baffled now,im gonna try it on tv downstairs see what happens.
