during this time who would i contact about a repair or replacement, microsoft or the retailer i bought the console from?
2. What would i do if the 360 breaks down after the 1 year warranty has expired, apparantly with the PS3
sony will repair or replace the console free of charge no matter how old the machine is, do microsoft do anything similar?
3. I hear that the 360 comes with a 2 year service contract for approx £60, so if anything happens
to the machine they will repair or replace it free of charge is this service worth getting? |
1. If the 360 breaks down within a year take it back to the retailer you bought it from and you are entitled to an exchange/refund. Additionally Microsoft has a 3 year guarantee on the RROD problem - if it breaks down due to that MS arranges to pick up the console via UPS and they'll repair it (for free).
2. See above. If your 360 breaks down past a year and it
isn't down to the RROD you have two choices:
# pay the £60 it costs to have MS repair the console for you, or
# 'enduce' your 360 into succumbing to the RROD (aswell as whatever other problems it has) and then send it off to MS to be repaired for free
3. To be honest I've never heard of that service contract. You can however get insurance out on the 360 from the retailer (depending on where you buy it).
Hope that answers your questions!
