Whats the best way to connect this to DD 5.1, I was told theres a cable for the 360 that has optical out, but I can't seem to find it.

What do you all do?

I have an amp with Optical Out, also have it on my TV and also HDMI out/in on amp, I tried connecting a HDMI from my 360 to my amp and then back out to my TV but I'm not to clever when it comes to sound connections so just finding out what is the best way? I love my 360/XBL for games compared to my PS3/PSN but the PS3 is equipped better for media streaming imo.

the ps3 better for streaming???

i was thinking the opposite, i much prefer using the 360 with media centre, as it seems to play more formats even downloaded BBC iplayer files as long as you drag them to the pc desktop

If you have connected the 360 via HDMI to your amp then you already have the 5.1 you need. Make sure to go to settings on your 360, sound options and make sure it is outputting DD 5.1.

EDIT. Oh and just to reassure you play a DVD and watch the DD+ 5.1 icon light up on your amp

I did try this but for some reason, I get no picture when I connect the 360 HDMI > HDMI IN/AMP > HDMI OUT/AMP > HDMI TV

Is this right?

You need the audio dongle with the optical out, or butcher a component cable so it fits in, then use the optical slot on that to your amp, hdmi straight to screen
