Hi

I got a new 360 and can't seem to get the hd drive to appear on the dash? Think I need the installation disk but cannot find it and when I tried downloading the file from microsoft the file appears incomplete and won't copy to cd?

Can anyone help?

Hi Buckster,

Thank you ever so much for the very kind offer! I have since gotten to the bottom of the problem although it's very strange.

The HD DVD drive had worked fine with my old 360 lit up green, opened/closed tray but once connected to the new 360 it wasn't visible!? I then bought a new HD DVD drive from Blockbuster for the install disk (thought I'd keep another drive for future if it ever broke) and ran the install - still no joy!!!

Then I tried plugging the new drive in and bingo it appeared on the system blades - weird... I started getting problems with my old 360 ever since Halo 3 when I developed a random fault where the power light would flash and I'd drop back to the dash. I'm suspicious that some 'update' bodged some firmware and messed up my drives?? Anyway - all up and sorted now thanks again!

how much did you pay? i want one of these.

I paid £39.95 I'm sure you could find cheaper but I stil find that good value especially as they're hard to come by new. Definitely try Blockbusters!

if you still have the reciept for your old one, send it to MS for repair
