Lately, a couple of films I've got have been freezing about half an hour into the film and when I press fast-forward or rewind then play, the film goes in slow-motion.

Does anyone know what's causing this?

Is it the '<name> is now online' messages that appear from Xbox Live whilst I'm watching a film or could my drive need cleaning?

These are HD-DVDs, by the way.

turn off the notifications in the settings section, this worked for me :-)
