Headset Ear-ache !!
I've been using my headset on live quite a lot recently but I've noticed I have developed a slight ear-ache in my left ear (the one I wear the headset on). I've had it for 2 weeks now.
Anyone else had this as I'm worried the headset may be causing damage to my ear?? I'm using a wireless controller so is this like having a mobile phone up against my ear for 2-3hrs every other night??
I really fancy the TurtleBeach X4 headphones but can't really justify the £130+ price tag.

Re: Headset Ear-ache !!
Is it ear ache in your ear or does your ear just ache after wearing it for a few hours. I borrowed my mates Wireless mic as my wired one has been playing up. And after wearing it for a few hours it starts to ache my ear where it wraps round it. Only problem i have had with it really.

Re: Headset Ear-ache !!
@Deftones, get a sharp pair of scissors and cut the rubber earloop, or remove the bottom of it,from its holder..that will stop the sore ear from the wrap-around.
i did it about a week ago,and havent had the same problem since.

Re: Headset Ear-ache !!
The wireless headset makes my ear hurt, but it is just so much clearer than the wired headset apart from the permanent hissing when nothing is coming through the speaker.

It's a wired headset - but wired into a wireless controller.
It's my inner ear that hurts not the actual grisly flappy bit that the sponge rests against. The fact that the pain is like if you have sensitive teeth and you eat something cold - this leads me to think it could be my wisdom tooth? (accept its in my ear)
I'm just hoping I'm not damaging one ear by having wireless.

pop out the bottom lug then..there are two interchangeable flaps for different sized ears, and popping out the lower one, seems to ease it off a bit.

Re: Headset Ear-ache !!
Sounds like you've got an ear infection.
Pop down to your doctor and get some drops, they can be a right pain, literally.
Just be thankful you haven't got an eye infection.

agreed, make sure the foamy bit around the ear piece is clean, take it off and soak in soapy water, could have all sorts of c**p on there

not adjustable as such, but it has a small adaptor and a "large" one,as they describe it.
i just popped off the bottom attachment from its place, and its easier to wear.
bearing in mind though that its not meant to have the whole ear shoved through it,merely just hang over the top of your ear.....either that or noddy is your friend.!

Re: Headset Ear-ache !!
I got a sore lug after a marathon GoW1 session the other week. I tried changing the headset over to my other ear, but it was too odd. After 2-3 years of hearing XBL comms in my right ear, it made me feel dizzy getting it in the left. What creatures of habit we are.

Re: Headset Ear-ache !!
Pop some pain killers and play till your ear drops off . Alternatively you could just make sure you take five minutes off every hour to go have a stretch and give your ear a chance to rest.

Re: Headset Ear-ache !!
Thanks chaps - it's obviously only me then, so I needn't worry about radiation from my headset.
Although i do now have to worry about a potential ear infection or maybe have a wisdom tooth removed.
Oh well, all in the name of gaming.
I tried switching mic to my right ear and that was too strange.
Thanks again

Re: Headset Ear-ache !!
I can personally switch to either ear without issue, but I generally use my right ear.
I use my right hand for everything, even my fork, which is apparently strange for a righty, but to me it seems natural as you use the fork more than the knife.
