Arrow The Ring Of Fire

How many people have had problems with their 360s?
Mine is a original premium console and I have never had any red ring troble after a good 3-4 years of fairly regular use. However the CD draw is difficult to open and have had some game shredding but other than that OK. Is there a fix to stop the DVD tray from being stuck in and not reading the game. Cheers.

if you have a look here :
Xbox 360 DVD Drive Comparison How to determine which version DVD drive you have in your Xbox 360, Samsung, Hitachi, Benq

you can see what kind of drive you have..
i think it may be a samsung,as that has a foam pad in it that dislodges, and causes this.
not much to be done unless you change the drive, and/or get it repaired by microsoft, or buy a new one.

Thumbs up Re: The Ring Of Fire

Yep, just check and it looks most like the samsung. Is this a common problem with these drives?

Re: The Ring Of Fire

i had about 6 go bad like that..
the little foam pad is there to steady the discs, but it soon gets rubbed off/changes shape and becomes an obstruction, causing problems like this.
and the hitachi drive at the time was rubbish too.

either get it replaced from somewhere that mods/repairs them,or buy another.
you could go to microsoft, and they would charge about £60 or thereabouts for it to get repaired/replaced.

or a final hope is, to pray it develops a 3 red ring error soon, as the 3 year warranty on the original ones is expiring/might have expired.
when did you buy it?, as you have a 3 year warranty from day of purchase, for red ring of death error, so if it develops that within the time period, you could get it fixed for free.

Thanks from:
