HD-DVD drive and new NXE

Just wondered if the 360 HD-DVD drive still works okay after applying the new NXE download to the 360? Any known issues?

Cheers

Re: HD-DVD drive and new NXE

I've always been confused about this - does the HD-DVD drive only load a disc if there isn't one in the Xbox?

Re: HD-DVD drive and new NXE

I' not sure if anyone else has experienced this but i tried to watch a HD-DVD last night, for the first time since the NXE.

The film started (300) and it was silent. No sound at all.

The only way i could get the sound to stream to my amp was by going into the memory settings, and deleting all of the saved data in the HD-DVD drive section.

Worked fine after that.

Anyone else experienced this?

Re: HD-DVD drive and new NXE

I have tried 3 HD-DVDs since the dashboard update, every 10 mins the picture blacks out for a fraction of a second. Does anyone else have this problem? Any advice anyone could give me?

Re: HD-DVD drive and new NXE

it has been fine for me as well.

If you have a large HD DVD collection I would recommend getting a second drive as a backup incase one breaks.

I own 2 hd dvd players in case, as I have some 40+ films.

Even if the 360 dies, you can use the drive on a PC.

It seems harder to get the drives cheap now, so I am glad I got it in the Summer.

Also you could try the spare drive to see the problem is the same,
