Play and charge kit problems.

I've had the same P&C kit since I bought my first 360 on August 2006.
The actual console died just under a year later, at which point I returned it for a replacement with the retailer.
That replacement died about 6 months later.
When it returned from being repaired with MS, the P&C kit gradually began to stop working properly.
First of all it would not remain charging after I switched of the console, using the guide button to select the on screen switch off option.
Then it started giving me the green "fully charged" light after only a few minutes, even when charging the battery from flat.
The repaired console died two weeks ago and has been replaced by MS.
Then as of yesterday, I get the green light 15 seconds after plugging in the P&C kit.
As soon as I unplug the kit, the battery is dead again.
I've tried more than one battery and more than one controller with the same lead with the same results.

Anyone else had this problem, and should I cut my losses and buy a new kit?

Re: Play and charge kit problems.

your battery has reached the end of its life, they only last for a few hundred charges.(battery life can vary though).
just buy a new battery.

Re: Play and charge kit problems.

It was definitely the lead.
I'd tried it with 2 different batteries and 4 different controllers.
I got the same problems all the time.
"Charging" too quickly, not charging when the console was turned off and eventually not charging at all.
The newer battery, which I bought about 6-12 months after I bought my original P&C kit got damaged a couple of months ago, so I couldn't test that one out on the more recent problems.

I bought a new kit and it works fine.

I still don't get how the lead became the problem.
