Error E74 Code 102 Becoming More Regular

I had my Elite repaired back in june, but has never been right.
Every now and then i would get the E74 error,
and itrs now happening pretty much everytime i first turn the Xbox on in a day.
Does this mean i will get the red rings of death?
i hope i do as i want the free repair,
plus ill probably just buy a new one a and sell the old one when it gets back!
Thanks.

You will have as much chance with a new one as a repaired one of it failing again. Once it comes back from Microsoft it will have a new drive and mobo, so is in effect new.

Off the shelf ones can be faulty from day 1, so i wouldn't waste your time or money to be honest.

What have you been playing? Gears 2 works the gpu hard, could be leading to your E74.

Red rings are probably on their way.

i have been playing gears 2 a lot and since then the E74 error has been coming up, so that makes a lot of sense.
I dont mind it going though but as long as i get RROD as im now out of warranty!

Re: Error E74 Code 102 Becoming More Regular

I had a 2yr old 360 which gave RROD. Immediately contacted MS and they arranged for collection. Anyway I just thought I'd try it again that evening and it worked fine, never RROD again. I phoned them back and explained that it was intermittent as I didn't want them to get it then try and charge me for anything. I was told not to worry they would probably fix or replace it even if it wasn't showing the reported fault on receipt. I doubt they even had chance to open the box as the status in the morning reported received then by mid morning showed dispatched. They just replaced it with another console.

So it might be worth sending it back anyway with an intermitted RROD and E74 reported
