I am desperate to trade in my 20gig premium for an elite - but I broke the USB socket cover when I took the faceplate of a while ago - and - whilst they are content to sell you scratched second hand discs and non minty used consoles - Gamestation or Game won't take it in for trade against an elite.

Anybody know where I can get a bog standard plain white faceplete? The normal Google search route brings about all kinds of faceplates - just not a straight one for one of the original white one...

They can be fixed, that happens a lot. If you have a soldering iron you can fuse the little knobs over the metal plate that holds it in place.

Failing that ebay, or call these guys and see if they have any might be worth a try?

Brian, I've got a spare you can have (if I can find it) - I got a refurb back from MS when mine went tits up with the RROD, and it had a faceplate on it despite me having removed the faceplate from one I returned.

Guys - as usual the response has been great...but I went into to my local GS and gave the (female) manageress my big puppy dog eyes...and she traded it in with a black faceplate...so I'm now the proud owner of an elite......minus my game saves...

Oh well - just have to play them all again then, won't I...
