Smile NXE 1680 X 1050 leaves black vertical bars, why?

I'm currently using the "optimal resolution@ option on the NXE @ 1680 x 1050 on 50HZ, 60HZ isn't supported. Will the black bars go with 60 HZ.

Thanks in advance.

I doubt it, sounds like the resolution you have is 16:10 so you will either have black bars or a stretched image.

Re: NXE 1680 X 1050 leaves black vertical bars, why?

How do I set this as my resolution please? I go to Console Settings -> Display -> HDTV settings, but I can still only chose 720p/1080i

Thanks

Console -> Display -> Resolution isn't there for me.

I only have HDTV settings, screen format (greyed out) and a couple of other options

Using HDMI btw

I understand the options only appear if you are using the VGA connection or HDMI through DVI to connect to a monitor.

God damn it, thanks dude, they did actually say this:

New display support. Because you asked for it, we are adding 16X10 over VGA or HDMI, and support for 1440x900 or 1680x1050.
... so I figured it'd work, either way I'm really, really dissappointed, guess I'll just have to speed up the purchase of a HDTV.
