Re: Help to find a cheap hd dvd drive

I was about to say Play.com as I got one last week for £29.99. I just had another look and they've gone up to £48. Possibly your local Toys R Us might have one for £19.99.

Re: Help to find a cheap hd dvd drive

Presumably the only thing you might need would be a "figure of eight" power lead that plugs into the small power supply that comes with the hd dvd drive.

Bugger it I just cannot resist that price for brand spanking new HD-DVD add on, just ordered it with bladerunner and hotfuzz was gonna wait till I saved up money for a Toshiba EP30 but I'm itchin to taste the HD movie era, and if need be after xmas if I feel like upgrading to a better quality player I will Suppose this will give me a feel of what to expect.

Oh my choice of blade runner and hot fuzz was based on reviews at HD DVD Review: Blade Runner (Complete Collector's Ed.) | High-Def Digest I went purely on video quality

Good skills.

Bladerunner is a fine example of how good even older films look when given the 1080 treatment.

IMO, Transformers is the stand-out movie for showing off HD-quality (film is OK) (£2.99 at HMV)

Don't know if you are married but my wife is not too fussed at all about HD but getting What Dreams May Come made her think twice.

You should also try to get Planet Earth

I think a lot of people still have little interest in HD films.

I've had my Xbox HD-DVD drive sitting on top of my brother's DVD player for the last year but he's never asked about it.

I reckon The Fast and the Furious also looks good on HD-DVD.

Thanks for the tip especially about Transformers I recently watched the standard dvd of that so will be very interesting to see it in HD.

I'm already going into a shopping frenzy now for HD-DVD's lol, I'm gonna head over too HMV right now £2.99 is just crazy for a HD movie

I know what your saying, my brother has his PS3, and he's had it just over a year now and he's only bought 1 BR movie, I can understand why maybe he only bought one for BR format as I woudn't myself pay £15-20 per movie.

Will deffinatly check for The Fast and The Furious at HMV while I'm ordering Transformers...Ohhh happy days

There's also 2 Fast 2 Furious and The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift.

The Tokyo Drift one sounds exciting.

I bought my 360 HD-DVD drive for £100 brand-new about 15 months ago and I think it was on sale at the time.

No more films will be released on HD-DVD but worldwide, I'd say there's a library of over 1,000 discs if you include the general interest ones and the music ones.

If they have any in stock.I tried today and was told that they haven`t had any 2nd hand ones to sell for ages, staff bought last 2 that they had .

I also tried cash-converters as well, with same result.

I fancied buying drive to test out my new full hd telly.
