Heh,

So I bought a HD DVD addon for my 360 for back up just in case my EP10 packed up. Got it off Ebay and when it arrived the software disk was not inside. I have looked all round xbox.com but can not find anywhere to download it. I contact the seller and his reply was "It was not in the picture or mentioned in the auction" which is very helpful. Would you sell a car without the keys and then go did you see them? Nevermind.

So I was wondering if anyone would let me borrow theirs so I could install it and I will return it. I will cover any costs incurred.

I have looked all over the net but can not find any links to download it.

Thanks for the link but I have been trying this since last night.

Doing it through XBOX live when I insert a HD DVD nothing happens and I have tried every method I know to burn the file onto disk but when I put it in the console it's says disc unreadable. I followed the instructions including renaming the file, different media, re-writeables. I think I'm being punished for something.

Oh, my bad, I thought that should work.

if you pm me your address i will post you the disk if you like, i cant do it till monday though! I dont need it back as I use the drive through my pc.

From that link when you click

"December 2007 Xbox 360 HD DVD Player Installation/Update Disc here."

Below that it says

"You will need to unzip the file to get the default.xex file and $SystemUpdate folder out"

I only get the System Update file.

A big thank you to Para for all his help sorting this out. But the problems keep coming.

So thanks to Para I installed the software and now the 360 does not recognise it is installed. The drive is all lit up like it should be, I can eject and input a HD disc but the 360 should say HD DVD tray open or something but it does not. I can hear the disk spinning but nothing on the console to say anything is happenning. Tried different USB ports, re-installing the software but no joy.

So, any ideas?

have you tried plugging it into a pc? to see if its recognised?

I'm at the same point.

It is recognised fine by my PC, just not showing up at all on the Xbox.

If you can be bothered I would raise a complaint with Ebay/paypal. Not that they would be interseted but it might annoy them for a while. It might not have been mentioned in the auction, but it was also not mentioned that it was not included and I think that it would be fari to assume that you would get the drivers.

All in the the seller was not particularly helpful......but as I say, not sure ebay/paypal give a toss

Tbh, thats happend to me, but... on his writing on ebay it said " every you need to play HD DVD's on your xbox" so i got my money back. check see if their anything like that on their then report it, ebay HAVE to deal with it,
or their going back on their own contracts realy. sorry if that dident make sence,

You dont need the disk if u are online, it will update itself, but if u want to burn a disk to update if not online then go here..

Yah I got an HD DVD player off eBay and there was no install disc and it would cost me half what I paid for it to return it in shipping costs so I also was wondering if it was possible to get the install disc that was suppose to come with it, and no the download from xbox.com is not the same thing so please don't tell me to use it, I wasted probably 5 discs trying it to no avail
