Question Connection problems with Xbox HD DVD Player.

Dear All,

I've followed the installation programe and installed the HD disc in the console, the screen then says to connect the HD DVD player to the console with the USB cable. After that nothing happens, the screen still shows 'connect the HD DVD Player. Am I doing something wrong?

Thanks

Re: Connection problems with Xbox HD DVD Player.

well i installed hd dvd drive a few months back and i just did it the usual way..
1) opened the box.
2) powered the hd dvd drive
3) connected the usb cable from hd dvd drive to xbox
4) started xbox
5) xbox detects the hd dvd drive and downloads firmware update.
6) hd dvd is good to go

I did that. But I connected the USB into the rear of the console, but now I've connected it at the front it works fine. Should it be compatible with the rear USB port?

Re: Connection problems with Xbox HD DVD Player.

all USB ports should be equal and the same (in theory)

but as long as it works one way or another my advice was going to be try different ports (before i read post 3)

Re: Connection problems with Xbox HD DVD Player.

sounds like you might have a dodgy 360 buddy, do you have anything else you can plug in the back USB port to test it works - even a USB keyboard will test it. If it doesnt work send it into M$. Having the HD-DVD cable hanging out the front is ugly
