Hi All

Hoep fully somebody can help. I started to watch American Gangster last night and it prompted me to update, i did this and now the drive won't play ANY HD-DVD's but DVD's work fine.

I have tried to download the software form xbox.com but it seems the zip file doesn't have all the files it needs.

Does anybody have a copy they could email or link me to please or any ideas to fix it! I have deleted everything form the HD-DVD drive's memory but still the same problem.

Try going into Memory under the 360 dashboard, and delete the contents of the HD-DVD drive's onboard memory. Usually solves it, though not ideal I know

I have asked Xbox for a ETA for the April release to be posted to the web site, no news yet, sorry.

So yeah, try clearing the drives cache should help

Just tried downloading the HD DVD update from the site, and its broken... it doesn't contain the default.xex file!

Anyone got a copy that works, my HD DVD drive wont play Mad Max 2, or Disk 1 of World Trade Center!

Edit - Just tried Children of Men. Also borked.

It went conk when I installed the update last night when I put WTC in for the first time.

God this is annoying!

Hey there.

I did find that last night pretty much just after I posted, heh.

I burnt the disk, but when I put it in my 360, it loads the update, asks me to plug in my HD DVD Drive, then almost instantly says 'Fine, its been updated', without doing anything to the drive!

Just got some more disks this morning, 300 doesn't work either. The drive is definately knackered. Any more ideas?

Took the player back to my local Game (used to work there) and swapped it out for a new one.

Everything works fine now, but I'm very wary of applying the update it wants to considering it bricked it last time!
