Hello anyone.
I am having real problems in the relatively simple task of putting my music files on to the 360 hd.

I have built my last 2 pc's myself and would like to think I am adequately intelligent enough to manage a simple file transfer but the dam thing does not want to work.
I get to the media centre, it recognizes my laptop, I get the serial no. (doesn't work) then it says it cant find my pc or no pc connected. when you go to the other page on the 360 console (I think it the connection page) it clearly states that my pc is connected.

How the hell could a parent or grandparent set this up for a child is beyond me.

What ever happened to concise instructions that actually work. Anyone remember the Haynes Manuals for cars? Or the Haynes book of lies as I like to call it!

Can anyone write a clear and concise instruction document so I can put some music on the 360 please?

You cannot transfer music from a PC to the Xbox 360.
You can stream it, but not transfer it to the Xbox 360's HDD.

The only way to get music onto the 360 is by ripping it directly from a CD in the 360's drive.

Are you actually wanting to put the files on your 360 or leave them on your pc and stream through your 360???

I stream my files and use Windows Media Player 11 and don't even bother using the media centre option on the 360, on the same blade just go to music and select your computer from there. To make sure you're 360 can get the files you need to enable this in WMP 11 and also import your library aswell.
