No need to buy the official wireless adapter, could always just get an Ethernet Bridge, cheaper and works just as well.

If you cant get it to connect with a normal ehternet cable though then an ethernet bridge isnt going to help, best to get it working before you buy either.

As you seem to know what your'e talking about mate, can I on the same subject ask some advice...

I have my wired router (Draytek), with PC connected in one room, and the Xbox in the other room. At the moment, I've got everything wired... now... bear in mind I know nothing about networking really...

If I want to know expand into wireless and maybe get the Xbox 360 wireless without buying that expensive MS Addon... (but keep my PC hard wired for personal reasons)... what do I need to buy to make a wireless addon? What are these bridging units and how are they different to a router?

My idea is, you buy this "something"... ethernet it into one of your spare sockets on the Wired Router... and that's it?

Am I right in thinking this? I seriously need a cheap wireless router that I can connect my Xbox on (as the cable is going across the hall), and also my wifes Laptop...

Any info would vbe much appreciated mate and laymans terms will do, as I know loads about PC's etc, but NOTHING about networking apart from my simple one at home.

Re: the wireless adapter

When you connect the wireless all you do it basically plug it in and and let the router etc find each other, you may need to type in the security code it and thats basically it i believe.

All you need is a Wireless Router and a Wireless Ethernet Bridge.

The Wireless Bridge connects to the 360 and hay presto, you are on Live with not a cable in sight.
