Is an elite worth it?

I know its been done loads of times, but i have a slightly different reason.

Reason for HDD - I like keeping demo's and regularly run out of space.

Main Reason for HDMI - To free up component for my wii, VGA being used for my pc

Reason for second console - Can use old core to stream divx to living room

I have a spare £300 which gets me the elite, 3 games and extra (white) controller with my student discount.

Please answer quick, i might go pick one up this afternoon before work.

Is it worth it just for the component through wii which is really the deciding factor.

EDIT - nevermind, i'm just gunna get one, just tried the wii through coponent for the first time and its unbelievably better.

To be fair, I'm impressed you thought about it for 15 minutes! Good work!

Another "please help me justify the purchase I'm going to make anyway" thread.

They all end the same way.

Re: Is an elite worth it?

I'm actually looking at getting an Elite as well to have the bigger HD (and since it's black as all the other stuff on the ent. unit), just want to know if they are any more reliable than the other 360's (Arcade, Premium, etc) which are available?

Thanks

Re: Is an elite worth it?

Elite is the best VFM at the moment if you want the 120GB HDD

Re: Is an elite worth it?

I went for the elite cause I wanted black, no other reason. HDMI is available on all the others. They all have the same circuit board now and the new 'improved' processor. You do get a few extras as well as the 120gb hard drive. Which I've managed to get to 90gb free now.

Reason = nice black console

Re: Is an elite worth it?

I'm happy simply because i don't have to swap components or buy a component switch, i have a bigger HDD, i was wanting something to stream DIVX's to the front room (my old xbox) and its black.

I would of only spent that money on clothes or something else frivolous.

Re: Is an elite worth it?

Am thinking of getting one. i was going to buy a black mod case and put my existing 360 in that, but as i got the 3 red rings of death today think I'll buy an elite and then either flog the premium on eBay once Microsoft have fixed it or just use it as a spare in the bedroom
