250GB HDD - Transfer Kit situation!

Hello,

Was hoping someone could clear the mind of a confused gamer, well so I'm hoping to soon order a new Xbox 360 after my UK Launch 360 finally went to console heaven. Trouble is I'm hearing all sorts of mixed messages concerning the transfer kit working or not working with the new 250GB hard-drives.

Well I have a second transfer kit that I actually accidentally bought not knowing that my currently used 120GB HDD would come with one. So I was hoping to use that, I believe the issue as to do with the CD. Now I know I have my CD somewhere but I haven't located it yet but to be honest I'm almost 100% sure it won't work as it's a few years old now.

So is there a way to get a updated disc? Strangely the transfer kits seem non-existent nowadays, the only place to buy them is on Ebay and I can't be sure what version of CD they have without asking and confusing the seller

So some advice would be welcomed, originally I was planning not to transfer my data and simply buy a memory unit and obtain a few saves here and there. But if the transfer of the HDD is capable then it's worth a go, especially when I consider my Rock Band 2 DLC and large catalogue, I already suspect that that will be a mess to sort out on a new system.

Thanks!

EDIT!
I've just noticed a thread on this issue so I apologise. Delete if one wishes.

I recently used Transfer kit A from the avforums bike thread to move everything from my 120gb to a new 250gb HDD. The Kit worked perfectly but there was no mention on either the disc itself or during transfer that it was the newest version of the transfer disc. The only problem is if you want to transfer all your licences over onto your new HDD you have to re-download all your DLC anyway so to be honest I could have done it with a memory card instead. Here's a tip for downloading your purchased content again: Don't trawl through the Marketplace on your 360, simply log onto the xbox website, sign into your profile and go to your download history and add everything to the queue and next time you turn the 360 on it start automatically. It evens lets you download anything you may have bought from years ago that doesn't show up on marketplace anymore.

Excellent aggravation & time saving tip.
