Broken disc drawer

The kids had somehow jammed their 360's disc drawer. They told me that a disc had got jammed in there.
Had a look over the weekend, no disc was in there but a thin strip of metal together with a black plastic "lug" have fallen out of it.
Cheap to repair or a new console????
The drawer is still jammed by the way. When you press the eject button you can hear the motor whirring as if it wants to do something, but nothing's happening.

Re: Broken disc drawer

If it's a Hitachi or Toshiba drive then you can just easily swap the drive board into a new drive. Not sure what that piece is you're refering too without a picture.
