Hi Guys.

Very miffed here so here goes.

Bough a core in Aug 08 pre-owned. June 08 RROD so take it back and get another one. In June 09 it went again so got another console, again pre-owned. Two weeks ago it went again so took it back, got another core/arcade what ever it is they are called now. I then asked if I would trade that new one back in for an elite and pay the difference as I heard they didnt have issues. All was ok and they just had one traded in. I thought great and got it. TWO WEEKS it has gone again so I feel that it was traded in with RROD and the previous owner didnt tell gamestation this. Do I have any rights to ask for a NEW console this time bearing in mind I have had 4 and this will be my 5th in about 15months ish?

Just sell it on again and pay an extra 50 or 60 quid and get an arcade with 2 games mate will solve all your problems

I had an arcade before and im not paying any additional money for it.

Then more likely or not your going to keep getting the same problems as this is why the majority of people trade them in

I have been told the elite has less problems than the rest which is why I upgraded for one.

Depends if its a falcon or a jasper. Tell me the wattage on the power brick anything above 12.1 is a falcon which also had a few teething problems

Yesh as i suspected its a falcon. Take it back and make sure you get a jasper which should have a 12.1a power brick. Make sure it has this before you leave the shop. Also check the manufacture date on the back of the console near where the leads all go in.

You should have a year warenty with a preowned console

I couldnt afford a brand new one and still cant lol. I will just ask for a new one and see what they say given this is my 5 now in 15months

i doubt you would get a new one, you paid for a pre-owned one, why should they give you anything different??

i would be asking for a refund though..and i take it that would be enough to buy a new console.

Bite the bullet, get it sorted and ebay it.

then buy a bundle new online and sell all the bits and keep the console, cheaper than a 2nd hand console

As I was thinking on the back of this thread earlier:

I have paid £139 for the console. I will take that back and get a refund as its faulty and get them to send it back to MS etc.

I have £58.99 on a trade card which I can put towards it which is give or take £200 for a new console.

I have found a deal for GS instore which is Elite, Forza 3 and FIFA 2010 for £199. CEX are doing Forza exchange at £30 and FIFA for £24 so would then be back to £54 on my trade card.


If anyone can find any better deals I would be glad to hear them!!

If somthing goes wrong with any electrical goods within the warrenty then you have the right to ask for a full refund.

My 60gb Died on me, went to go and change it but they said they where Discontinued. Sent me on my way.

Rang trading standards.

Went back to the store said i want one of two things to happen.

Refund or Exchange/ pay the Difference.

I exchanged it for a £200 elite. That left me paying £30 for a brand new console and two games. =D

If you have any problems feel free to ring trading standards.
