Hurray! a 360 power supply question

Hey guys, my power brick is broken and not powering my 360. It probably has to do with my basement flooding and the brick getting partially wet.

So I'm thinking of getting it replaced. However I don't really know which model to get. I bought my console off craigslist a few years back so I'm not sure how old it is, but when I looked at the number next to the serial number it is says 12v 16.a, which I believe means its one of the older versions.

So, does this mean that the only power brick that I can potentially buy online is only the older models (203W)? Do the new bricks not work with the older consoles?

if thats a yes, where can I buy the right model to get my console up and running? I can't really tell if the ac supply that people are selling online are the right ones to get.

Thanks!

Also, I'm also thinking of trying to go in there and fix it myself, which might be a bad idea because I know nothing of electronics. Are there any faqs here that discuss that (didnt see any)?

First hit on google:
https://www.ps2repairs.co.uk/catalog/xbox-360-c-50.html
Can't say if they are any good or not.

Aw thats too bad Dao, but thanks Pebe I've been looking at google too. I mostly asked to see if anyone knew of any reliable sites that they would recommend for this kind of stuff. Most of my searches have resulted in finding 3rd party ac supplies that have bad reviews. Plus I'm not really too keen on buying used ones because theres a possibly it might be fried.

I guess I'll keep looking for now; will take a look at that site though

Re: Hurray! a 360 power supply question

If you know of a local independent trader they tend to have spares in stock (I say this having been to two recently at different ends of the country). Not exactly consumer proof but one possible option to try...
And of course you could go back to MS themselves: http://www.xbox.com/en-GB/support/contact

Re: Hurray! a 360 power supply question

Ok thanks, I'll look into that as well.

And just for some clarification...the 203watt one is the one with 3 prongs on the plug, correct? I seem to recall 360 cables that only have 2 prongs. Are those the newer versions?
