I've waited months for MW2. Finally, Play.com delivered today as promised. Fired up the 360, installed, and played the 1st mission (the pits).

Hang.

Restarted, and the console prompted me that there was a system update. Accepted it, and it hung.

Restarted the console and got E71 and 3 red lights. Sigh.

And everyone tells me that MW2 is that good too. Sigh.

Repair request submitted to MS. Ah well. I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here starts on Sunday to take up my time.

Calling the helpline is'nt going to make any diff is it? The 360 is covered by the 3 year RRoD warranty anyway, and MS don't offer an advance swap out (like Sony did for me when my PS3 went foobar).

2-3 weeks they say on the website. Not too bad.

They've been known to give games, controllers, months of Live for free...it's not a policy, but if you put your complaint across nicely you usually get something, so it's worth giving them a call, especially because you specifically bought a 360 to play MW2 and you are absolutely devastated because you are the only person in your whole town who isn't able to get online playing it...etc.

We've received numerous items from Microsoft after complaining about their crappy service. Here's a list of our spoils:

My 360 got the E74 - System error on the first map.

First the graphics froze/glitched, rebooted > One red light = E74

Just sent my Lads back for red lights fault - had it back in 10 days

They had also replaced a 06/06 build console with a nice new "quiet" 06/09 model - so heres hoping for you

That's the rule of thumb....I'm pretty confident you'll get it back sooner than that though.

Thats exactly what just happened to mine half hour ago

Least I played through the campaign twice and put 24 hours into mp before it did Least the repair is free to and managed to get my COD disc out without a problem

As suggested, I sent in a moaning email. They gave me 1 month free Gold. Hardly earth shattering lol

Ah well, I'll just be glad to get it back and play the bloody game !!
