I went off to the launch and picked up the console, all sealed up..sweet, first thing you do is put COD on...Quality, but now I have decided to shift over my data from memory card to HDD and I find a whole load of sh*t that aint mine

more like hard drive has, not happy, why would anyone swap the hard drive?

All I transfered was 50 mb of stuff that I needed off my memory card.... so why is this on the hard drive already????


Also.. do the 250 gb hard drives that came with the Forza pack have a black strip around the side instead of the silver?

I know where I work there was an issue with some MW2 consoles in that the HDD Microsoft originally sent in the box was only a 120GB, I believe we had to replace all the drives in our batch with the correct HDD's that were sent afterwards when the error was spotted. I would suggest this could be a possible way you got what appears to be a "used" HDD.

Where did you purchase the console from, just out of interest.

Gamestation, the packaging was all well sealed, I had to tear the console bag to get it out the tape was that tight, there is no sign at all of tampering so I would guess it came from MS with a used drive, gonna contact them today to see what's going on.

I bought the forza super elite a couple of weeks ago and that had exactly the same on the hdd. It wouldn't have been used so don't worry about it

That is so bizarre, is that just to test the data migration cables or what?

When you buy a console does it not come pre-installed with a load of stuff i.e. demos, videos etc.

I think they preload the disks with stuff now, there were demos and other things similar to what you've listed on the new Elite I bought the other week from PC World.

Think it's like a starter pack for those that wouldn't be connecting to Live etc.

They've been doing it from release day, Hexic HD was pre-installed on the initial batch and they've been adding demos over the years
