Hey guys, you've probably had this question a million times but here goes anyway...

I played my xbox360 yesterday with no problems whatsoever. However, when I turned the machine on today and put a disc in the drive the console would not recognise that there was a disc in it. I tried a few more games just incase, then I tried the usual turning it off etc but no change.

I guess I just wondered if my xbox is borked or if this is a common problem and what's the best remedy?

sounds like the laser in the dvd drive has gone, if its still under warranty just return it and get a new one. if you bought it 6 months ago second hand then its pretty easy to change yourself
