Power Brick Problem?

Hi All

After many probs. with my elite console someone said it could be the power supply. I duly unplugged it from the console then unplugged the 'brick' from the mains, my friend said that the orange light should stay on for 5 secs max, followed by a red light. Mine stayed on for between 15-20 seconds, with no red light. I've just tried a mates 360 'brick' and his did exactly as the guy said.
To make matters worse, on arriving at a shop to pick up another power pack the guy said there was nothing wrong with it, and its the console and I should bring it it for repair, so that would be £15 for the 'brick' or £45 for a repair mmmmm....any help please?

Re: Power Brick Problem?

When the console is off the power brick will have an orange light on
When the console is on the power brick will have a green light on

How old is the console, and what are the problems you are having?
Im assuming no power?

Re: Power Brick Problem?

The console's about 18 months old, there is power to it, someone mentioned that it could be the power pack, hence the info I supplied, I know it could be a load of bull, but hey, I know no better! The latest problem is after a short time theres a 'click' then the game freezes, happens on arcade as well,

Re: Power Brick Problem?

No worries Sniper, I just find it a bit strange that my power brick takes so long for the light to go off, I've just tried another friends and that one took a couple of seconds to go out, followed by a red light. It could be nothing to do with the brick, its the not knowing thats ******* me off!
thanks for your time anyway, much obliged

Re: Power Brick Problem?

I think the fact that you are getting a red light at all is an indicator that something is up at that end

I only get an orange light or a green light as i stated above

Sorry i couldnt be of any more help, please let me know what happens though

Re: Power Brick Problem?

Hi Sniper I must have misled you a little in my earlier posts! The red light appears on every other power brick, as it should when the plug is removed from the mains. This together with the length of time the orange light remains on with mine has given cause for concern
hope this helps
