I am looking to transfer the contents of my current 120gb HDD to my 250gb when it arrives next week and was wondering if the Datel 4gb memory card would do the job?

I would get an official 512mb card but I have some DLC which is over a gig in size, would I be able to back these up to the datel card and then transfer them to the new HDD without issue or will I have to download them again anyway for them to work on the new console?

I know using the transfer kit would be the easiest option but I have a buyer lined up for my current Elite and the sooner I get the contents copied across the sooner I can sell him the console.

Did Microsoft not kill all external memory cards in the last update ?

Yup, stay clear mate. All non-MS memory devices will not work.

EDIT: Also, if you are no longer looking to use the migration kit could you let me know asap please so i can get it sent to another person on the list?

Nope I still want the kit as I have stuff on my HDD which isnt on Marketplace anymore and the official 512Mb isnt big enough so the transfer kit is my only option.

Bit annoyed about the Datel card though as I bought it on eBay Friday and it didnt mention anything about not working on 360's anymore so its going straight back to them.

Its only just happened/just about to happen with the latest/next update (not sure if it's happened yet, if not then it's imminent)

Well the seller at first flat out refused any kind of refund saying they didnt know there was an issue and that its not their fault but just this minute had a follow up email saying they have investigated my claim and that I am correct so will give me a full refund once it is recieved back.
