2 red light error - both at the top

When i turn my xbox on it loads up properly and works fine for about 5 minutes. Then 2 red lights appear at the top when it is in the verticle position. I know 2 red lights on the left signifies overheating but my xbox is quite cool.

Does anybody know what the error is when the top two lights flash red?

What error code is on the screen?

None. The screen blacks out.

Ok firstly, turn it off and take the HDD out. Start it up again, what happens?

It seems to work without the HDD. I reattached it and got the 2 red lights again.

I assume that the problem will be with the HDD and not the actual xbox itself?

Yep

Try cleaning the connectors. Then reconnect it and try again, any luck? Also check the heat of your console, place your hand at the back and with the 360 on its side above the Rings about a handspace in.
