360 no longer sees HD-DVD drive

hey all, having an issue, that i can't seem to solve myself, or with microsofts help.... though help isn't the right word for their tech support. anyways, randomly, the 360 no longer can see the HD-DVD drive. tried three cables, all usb ports, nothing. tested the usb ports with my rock band controllers, and they work fine. currently, i'm running the HD-DVD drive on my pc, which it detected instantly, and was ready to install drivers. really at a loss as to why the 360 can't see it. been trading emails with microsoft for a few days, which is how long it seems to take for them to understand the problem, and stop trying to solve issues i don't have, or even mentioned..... so ya, other then formatting the entire hdd, i can't think of anything else to do. is it possible to uninstall the HD-DVD software? i've run the start up twice now, and tried re-installing the software, but it just hangs on please connect the HD-DVD drive part. any suggestions would be helpful

Hi
If you can connect to the PC and are able to access the on board memory of the HD-DVD drive, delete the files on board as sometimes they become corrupted and this could be the problem. Other than that if this is random then you may be able to access them from the 360 if yoou can get connected. Then just let it download the appropriate files. I had a similar problem when my drive failed altogether and I had to install a new power board on the drive. After this I could not get the 360 to recognise it at first
but I persevered and on the one occasion that it showed on the 360 I entered settings and deleted all file on the HD drive and restarted and the 360 loaded the files from the internet and I have had no trouble since. Hope you are able to fix it.

Re: 360 no longer sees HD-DVD drive

ok, this is incredibly stupid, but after trying to play my xbox, and the controllers not syncing up, found a site that stated the cables were not attached properly. so, unplugged the power, av, and internet cord, and not only are the controllers fine, but the HD-DVD drive is running perfectly..... freaking weird. all the cables were in the clicked position, but it wasn't perfect enough i guess haha
