What game next?

just finished Batman Arkham City, loved Rage, Dead Space 1&2, Gears2, CoD MW and Crysis2.

Didn't like Deaus Ex, Fallout3 and Halo3...so

Any recomendations for what to get next? I only play single player campaignes. I'm going to trade in the above 3 and have a £10 voucher for HMV is it worth trading at HMV too?

Toying with the idea of Gears3 or downloading Crysis.

cheers guys.

If you enjoyed Gears 2, Gears 3 is a bit of a no-brainer. It rounds the story off nicely. The price has plummeted too - I picked up a copy in the classifieds here for £11 a couple of weeks back.

I'd be inclined to trade your games for cash and buy a used copy, rather than pay HMV's prices, £10 voucher or not.

If you enjoy story-driven single player games, I would ordinarily recommend Skyrim wholeheartedly - but depending on why you didn't enjoy Fallout 3, you probably wouldn't enjoy that either.

Assassins Creed 2 etc? I wouldn't bother with the first, its nothing like as good and could sour you the series

I'd also give bioshock a try if you've never played it.

I got Dark Sector for £3, hard to find many reviews of this but it looked ok on youtube, not played it yet and got F1 2010 gave that a hammering but can't qualify any quicker than last lol.

Was thinking about Assassins having loved Batman is this kind of similar?

AdsterUK 31-01-2012 12:12 PM

When I first played AC2 I was really hit with the similarities to Arkham Asylum. Yet they are still very different games, I'd say Batman is very foccused and built around combat set pieces, AC on the other hand is more open, slightly less focussed on combat and has more freedom.

Both great games though

AC2 was the best of the series imo, i did like brotherhood and revelations too, but i just liked AC2 best.

dark sector is not a bad game either, quite a bit of multiplayer though if i remember but i never bothered with that only the single player.

a good game i can recommend if u haven't played it is Enslaved:OTTW.

cracking game imo.

Id definitely say give enslaved a rent first though, as its not for everyone.
Some of the people on my friends list loved it, but me and a few other people hated it.
Its definitely a marmite game.

Speaking of marmite games, im gonna recommend Deadly Premonition.
Personally i think its one of the best games this generation. The graphics are rubbish and the voice acting is laughable, but it does so many things that right that you can massively overlook the flaws. It also has one of the best storylines that has ever been in a videogame.

Lostsoul 301281 01-02-2012 12:31 PM

I'll also recommend Enslaved.
The controls are a little clunky, but not as awkward as AC IMO.
Great story and just enough action to keep you playing.
And I find it a good game to go back and play again and again.

If you like survival horror, try Alan Wake.
IMO it's the only decent survival horror on Xbox360.
Silent Hill Homecoming was utter pants compared to previous titles.
Alone in the Dark was another letdown to a series.

What about Borderlands?
Quite an enjoyable game, even if it is a little tough at times.
Plus there's some decent sized DLC.

had Borderlands in my hand but wanted to check it out on youtube first wish I'd have got it now. Starting to build a little list up now, always like to have something ready to buy.

Borderland
Assasins Creed II
Enslaved (quite tempted)
Gears3 (when it comes right down in price as the campaign is supposed to be short)

12 hours??!!
Did you leave your xbox on and have a little nap in that time?

Id say its about 8-9 hours max.

Lurking Lawyer 01-02-2012 9:44 PM

Be sure to buy the Borderlands GOTY edition with all the DLC bundled with it, rather than the standard edition.

richp007 02-02-2012 2:36 AM

Skyrim!!!!!!!

Take in to account food and toilet breaks.
I didn't try to rush it either.

:eek:wot, maybe abit slow story wise but I loved it as you actually had to deploy stealth and tactics I found with 2 you didn't have to plan and be as stealthy.

The only down side to the first game is that it was very repetitive.
There really wasn't much variation at all and it only became more interesting towards the end.

i agree, i got really bored with virtually doing the same thing, in fact i never even finished the story i got so bored, AC2 offers just that little bit extra missing from the first game, ACB is good too as it introduces the assassins u can train which are really good to take out guards with, a lot of mp though, ACR also has mp but harldy any and it's easy, the only annoying thing with ACR is that u always have to keep sending the assassins u are training out on endless missions, plus 1 achievement is currently glitched for collecting all the books which i had to do offline.

if it wasn't for the mp then i would have chose ACB as i do like the assassins u train and u don't send tham out on missions so u keep them with u, but because of the mp i chose AC2 as the best one.

although we still have AC3 to come out yet so who knows.....

Give up with Dark Sector was getting a bit boring. Purchased Assasins Creed Brotherhood today and loaded up ready to play (but I'm too tired) but I'm contemplating getting Crysis from xbox live first, so just a quicky, is it worth it and can I buy it using my credit card?

cheers.

I dont know what the game is like, but i definitely wouldnt recommend putting your credit card details into xbox live with the hacking scams that are going on at the minute.
Buy a pre paid microsoft points card from somewhere if you intend on buying it.
