new trailer folks this time showing off.............GothamTV (GTv)
http://media.xbox360.ign.com/media/7...62/vids_1.html
top left video dated (07/25/2005)
also from the xbox 360 summit in tokyo which was held yesterday FYI
Bizarre reveals details on the launch title
July 24, 2005 - The latest occurrence at the Xbox Summit in Japan was a demonstration hosted by Bizarre Creation's Nick Davies. He showed off the graphically impressive vehicles and environments for Project Gotham Racing 3. The cars will be comprised of 40,000 exterior polygons and 40,000 interior polygons. This is a huge leap when compared to the 10,000 total polygons used on the vehicles of PGR2.
In another example of PGR3's advanced graphics Davies stated that the Brooklyn has the same number of polygons as the entire city of New York in PGR2. Players will be able to customize and create tracks and race 80 different cars. Also, the crowds watching the races are fully polygonal and number in the thousands. No more card board cutouts cheering on the roadside!

They must have ment Chicago, you would have thought that they would know their own games though .
Still this is looking amazing!! Cars with 8 times the detail and photorealistic cities!
What I found really annoying though was how that video started with "and yes, what you have just seen is real ingame footage!" Show me!!!
Can the 360's launch come quick enough - I think not!!

Definately!! Shouldn't be long before we get video from an actual race I feel! All you will here is the sounds of future 360 owners Jaws dropping!

FYI - it's a print mistake. Nick actually said 'all the polygons from NYC in gotham 1', not 2 ...

I have to be honest it will take a lot for my jaws to drop. PGR2’s graphics were already pretty damn fine. I can’t see a massive improvement in PGR3, although I’d love to be proved wrong!

As some of you are probably aware i'm a massive fan of PGR2, and am looking forward to PGR3, however there are a few things that are starting to worry me:
PGR3 80 cars - PGR2 172cars. one of the things about pgr2 was the variety of cars to race, all handling differently, but with 80 cars all capable of 170mph, where's the variety, the depth?
Tracks - ive not heard to much about the cities in the new one but it's the track customisation the concerns me. imagine joining a room on live that the host is only running tracks that he has created himself, whats gonna happen, first corner you expect it to go left but it goes right, nice
40,000polygons to do the interior - ok it looks good but why? i'm never gonna look at it more than once, this to me is dressing, are they trying to hide something?
race footage - why has none been released yet? i'm an 'in-car' view driver so how pretty the cars look is secondary to me, how 'fast' it feels like i'm going is what i want
Hopefully all the above is paranoia as i'm sure bizarre creations won't let me down, but they have a lot to live up to. It needs to be good and i need to be good at it

Surely you have seen the screenshots, which are all ingame shots.
Below is a PGR2 and PGR3 shot for comparison...
PGR2
PGR3
I personally think that there is quite a good improvement.

I wouldn't worry Pooon. PGR3 is going to be a different animal but I think for the better. They are clearly aiming for the online "sport" side of things with Gotham TV and although all the cars are fast, it doesn't mean that they won't handle completely different. I just view this as more refinement.
Regarding the interior polygon count - in a game of this graphical quality if you then catch a glimpse of a poor interior, then the illusion of realism is broken. I think that the detail is more for the viewers of Gotham TV so that it looks good when they flick to in car views.
Tracks - i'm sure that they will have this all sorted out. I'm sure it's more an option to give the game more longevity than anything. I guess if someone creates a decent track then everyone will download it and start using it where as the poor track designs won't get used. In time people will settle of a series of the better tracks for each city and thus the community will almost create it's own game. I see this as a plus not a negative and will enjoy learning everyone elses tracks. For serious races i'm sure that standard tracks will be used (at least initially).
Rece footage - they are nicely building the hype with this I feel and are deliberately holding back on race footage. They also have said that they've not finished the game yet and still aren't 100% sure whether they can get 60 fps or not (they almost certainly will but don't want to commit yet until they know 100%). I guess that they just want the wow factor to be as big as possible when they finally release proper race footage and they are probably revelling in the fact that people are discussing the out of car shots that we have seen so far.
I'm sure PGR3 will be an amazing game and I wouldn't worry too much about the negatives that could occur - keep the faith Pooon!
