Lightbulb Suggestion: Single sub forum for Music Games

Hi,

As the number of music games is growing larger and larger, perhaps a sub forum including all music games would be useful rather than just RB and GH:

Rock Band
Guitar Hero
DJ Hero
Band Hero
Lips
(and the dance mat games and other not so good music games if they have to be in it)

Not a bad idea at all mate

Seems to make sense when you consider the RB, Hero and lips games. What do mods think?

I think this would be for the best, especially considering the Guitar Hero forum is struggling. Band Hero came out out yesterday and there hasn't been a single new post about it yet.

Re: Suggestion: Single sub forum for Music Games

But, but... the Guitar Hero people smell funny! They just want a free ride off us Rock Banders inherent cool

But yes it's probably a good idea, it may encourage people to cross-play games, and having them all lumped together may get rid of people posting random threads all over the place (eg: multiple "does this guitar work with this game" posted in GH, RB, min, games and review forums). I brought this up with the recent 360 shuffle to drop deadwood (Left 4 Dead), but noone seemed keen at the time.

Of course IMO we should clump all the shooters into one forum too, as they're all the same, bar a graphics skin-change

Well I must shamefully admit that I have Band Hero...and I still maintain that it should have been called Girlie Guitar Hero. But I like some of the songs anyway. And being able to disable the DLC is brilliant...something I've said they needed in RB and GH for ages.

I am just too ashamed to be the first one to post about it.

Re: Suggestion: Single sub forum for Music Games

The site admins have previously stated that the sub-forums should be franchise specific and not genres. Apparently this aids searching, especially from outside the forum itself. As far as I know, this position hasn't changed, and so wouldn't be possible to implement this suggestion.

We do of course have regular discussions, and if the position changes, I'm sure you'll hear about it.

Re: Suggestion: Single sub forum for Music Games

If the Guitar Hero forum is eventually put to rest, would something like "Rock Band and Other Music Games" work? That way you still get the search results from the Rock Band name.

I think Band Hero is far better than the pretty dull Guitar Hero 5.

And I'm not ashamed to admit that Love Story by Taylor Swift is blast on vocals. Well, not that ashamed anyway...
